Round 15 v Ballan Wrap Up

Today we welcome the Dunnstown Football Netball Club to the Cattery. Hopefully we can get some wins on the board in both footy and netball.

Last week our seniors put in a determined effort. Although the final score line drifted out the work rate and desire shown by the team was excellent. We know that if we can maintain this type of intensity that elusive win that we have been striding for will come. A scoreless third quarter made the assignment difficult but a surge early in the last quarter gave the guys a sniff, unfortunately catch up footy is hard work and the assignment was beyond our reach Joel Willmott competed hard all day whilst Dan Curran was stellar at fullback Josh Milne was also prominent. The guys will be looking to ensure this week’s performance is a good one.

Our Reserves controlled their match in the final half taking out a good win to keep their finals aspirations alive Damien Tabakovic, Sam Curran and Ben Huggett stood out. The under 18s put in a good performance in their match with an exciting come from behind victory into the wind to take out an amazing win Reece Wynd, Fraser Hay and Patrick Parr played well. The U15s had the bye and will be out to take a scalp today. The U12s tried hard with all players working extremely hard River Murray, Ollie Martin and Josh Rofe led the way in a good all round team performance.

Over on the netball court the girls had a productive day our A Grade team worked extremely hard but fell short of a valuable 4 points Rose Russell and Kristina Clohesy were in good form Our B Grade girls remain in finals contention with a strong win, Courtney Righetti and Emma Parr were the better players The C Grade girls put in a good effort taking out a sizable win Nat Maher and Nicole McKay played well.

The U17s returned to form with a strong win Maggie Russell and Sarah Campbell played strong games. Our U15s controlled their match throughout Georgia Howell, Montana McMillan and Cassie Blanks played well. The U13s played well stepping away for a valuable win Ruby Hurst, Cate Masterson and Tia Frith played great games. Our U13B netballers also put together a strong performance with Taisha Newton, Poppy Charleson and Ally Lockhart leading the way well done girls.

Don't forget the U12 Football and U13B Netball Lightning Premiership is on this Sunday 6th August at Creswick. be great to see some support there for the youngest stars of our club.

Today the club welcomes our sponsors as we thank them for their valuable contribution. The club would also like to thank everyone who contributed to the Goods and Services auction the day was a huge success
