AROUND THE GROUND

Round 10 v Springbank Wrap Up

Today we visit our neighbours Daylesford, and look forward to a competitive day of footy and netball.

In the last round our seniors got off to a good start and kept in touch with Springbank until half time when Springbank stepped up a gear and took the game away. The guys fought hard all day but could not take close the gap Matt Cosgrave, Dave Richardson and Alex Morrish worked tirelessly whilst Dan Wehrung, and Joel Wilmott made considerable contributions. The boys will be looking to get back on track with a valuable win today. Congratulations to Matt Cosgrave with his 200th senior game for the club.

In the Reserves match the guys continued great form with a strong win holding their opponents goal less till late in the last quarter. Nathan David and Dan Eastwell played well getting great support from Brayden Slater & and Jack Sullivan.

After a promising start the under 18s fell away as the game progressed, suffering a disappointing loss but not due to a lack of effort with the guys working hard throughout the match Patrick Parr was in great form getting good support from Josh Milne, Campbell Spittle & Seamus Murphy-Mckay. The U15s put in a good effort but found goals hard to come by, Jack Sampi, Caleb Dilg and Lachlan May were the better players. The U12s scored a quick goal but found the going difficult after that. Josh Rofe, Brody Murnane and Angus Barrett were the better players.

Over on the netball court our A Grade team took on a tough opposition and fell short despite the whole team working hard. Our B Grade girls also performed well yet fell short though the team put in a great effort. The C Grade team put up a competitive side with losing by only 2 goals. Erin Brennan and Gemma Labbett were the better players.

The U17s had a good win with all players contributing throughout the match. Our U15s also had a great win over Springbank. The U13s played well taking out a good win all of the girls played great games. Our U13B netballers also put together a strong performance with all players leading the way well done girls.

Tonight we are back to the Swiss Mountain Hotel for a meal and drinks try to make the effort to attend.
