AROUND THE GROUND

Round 6 v Carngham Linton Wrap Up

Today we welcome long time rivals Clunes to the Cattery.

Last week’s match against Carngham Linton can be best described as a disaster for our seniors, once again a lapse in the 3rd quarter allowed our opposition to get back into the game, although unlike previous match the guys were unable to arrest the momentum going down by 3 points. Dan Wehrung was clearly our best player whilst Luke Prendergast and Dylan Fishwick were solid contributors. The club will be looking for a big lift from the entire playing group this week.

The Reserves were also off their game coughing up some silly free kicks in the forward fifty which cost them crucial goals. First year senior players Jake Relouw and Jordon Malone led the way playing well in what was a disappointing result They like the seniors will need to turn things around this week.

The under 18s kept their season on track with a dominant performance Reece Wynd with 8 goals had a big day out whilst Zac Gervasoni and Brad Wills were prominent. The U15s put in a good performance in their match taking the points in what was a great effort, raising their tempo in the last quarter to kick away Mitch O’Brien, Jack Sampi and Alex Rofe worked tirelessly. The U12s were impressive with all players working extremely hard Brody Tallent, Harry Mason and Jacob Rae led the way in a good all round team performance.

Over on the netball court our A Grade team put in a good performance taking out a big percentage booster Rose Russell and Kara Stephens were in great form. Our B Grade girls also performed well taking the points by a comfortable margin Emma Parr and Nicole Hammond were the better players. The C Grade team continued their good form taking out the points Sarah Campbell and Tayla Sharp played well.

The U17s had a strong win to continue their run of form Georgia Martino and Prue Campbell played great games. Our U15s had a good result Isabelle Martino, Mackenzie Mahar played well in a good team effort. The U13s played a top game winning comfortably with all the players contributing Nikaya and Paton McMillan played great games. Our U13B netballers also put together a strong performance with Taya Oswin and Tyra Slater and Caitlyn Sandwith leading the way well done girls.

After today’s game, we will be holding a cruise night function which is a lot of fun please ensure we all make the effort to support the club and our social committee by attending
