Newlyn Players in the Interleague Side
Congratulations to four of our senior footballers in Tristan May, Nathan Blomeley, Ben Stott and Adam Sewell who have been selected in the final 29 man squad to represent the CHFL this Saturday against Ellinbank District at Nar Nar Goon. In a great personal achievement, our joint senior coach Adam Sewell has been appointed as captain of the team.
We we lucky enough to have 7 players in the original squad and due to injuries and availability, Luke Faull, Shane Edwards and Nathan Skewes will not play this weekend.
In the juniors Luke Relouw and Xavier Slater have been selected in the squad to represent the Under 18s. Both boys will be full of confidence after playing their 1st Senior match with Newlyn last Saturday and if given the chance will give a great account of themselves. Unfortunately Sean Willmott will not be available to play due to a serious arm injury he received in his 1st Senior match against Ballan - get well Sean and see you back on the track soon.
The club is extremely proud of all our representatives and wish them all the best for the big game.
Junior Disco - Saturday 2nd June 2012
There has been a change to the night of the Junior Disco. It will now be held at the complex on Saturday 2nd June following the home match against Carngham Linton.
Dinner is available to all players and supporters and will be at 6pm straight after the awards with the disco to run from 7pm to 9pm.
Costs are;
Dinner only - $10pp
Disco only - $5pp
Family - $20 for dinner with free entry to disco
Could all junior player's families please provide 1 casserole each and this can be left in the kitchen during the day or brought hot later on.
IPod Shuffle Night - Saturday 23rd June
Following the Round 9 home game against Springbank, we will be hosting our first ever IPod Shuffle Night at the rooms.
It will be a good fundraiser for the club, but more importantly there will be the chance to win big money on the night
More details will follow later this week with tickets available from next Tuesday.
History of matches against Carngham-Linton
To coincide with work our historian and local font of knowledge, Russ Leishman is putting together, each week we will feature our club's history of results against our upcoming opponent.
The next match following the Interleague Match will see us welcome Carngham Linton to the Cattery for the first time in their CHFL history. Last year was the first clash between the two teams and saw Carngham come away with the four points in a tight match. Here are the details from that game;
