Our senior team were unable to finish the game off last week after taking the game right up to Beaufort for 3 quarters James Maher & Adam Briggs were solid, well supported by Luke Preston & Brad Stevens after getting within a few points in the 3rd we finally ended up going down by 40 points After getting jumped in the first quarter our reserves matched it for the remainder of the game Tom Toose, Matt Lafranchi & Dom Uljanic stood out for the 4 quarters. The under 18s had a good win over a persistent Beaufort team Scott Cawthorn was terrific on his wing Well supported by Tom Willmott & Adam Galea in a fine team performance. Our U15s suffered a shock loss after stepping away to an early lead eventually getting run down in the last quarter Angus McNaughton and Jed Isle continue to impress well supported by Harry Russell. In the U12s game Ben Rofe & Patrick Murphy displayed poise & skill beyond their years in what was once again a fine team performance. Our U13B netballers had a well deserved win after having playing a number of much bigger sides Freya Maude was outstanding In the U13A game the the girls continue to improve each week and I’m sure a win is just around the corner Tilda Fletcher & Grace Lund had great games. The U15s kept in touch with the finals by scoring a solid win Montanna Labbis & Maddie Thomas led the way for a 9 goal win. Our U17s pulled off a nail biter to score a well deserved victory Mai Schlooz & Lauren Courtney Righetti & Lucy Hocking continued their fine season in C grade unfortunately the girls were unable to take out the points. The reserves went down in a high scoring affair Amber Allen & Nat Maher stood out continuing their great season. Our A grade girls put in another solid performance Tarni Beasley & Nikita Tudball led the way. The improvement in the group has been fantastic as the seasons gone on. Congratulations to Chris Stephens on 150 games Brayden Slater, Leigh Allen, Tom Willmott, Shaun Dridan & Terry Mckenzie on 100 games On the social side please note the change of venue for the bad taste ball which will now be held upstairs at the George Hotel this Saturday night so everyone get behind the club and make it a successful night Also make your bookings for the Dimond Medal night after the last game this is a must attend for our senior grades, U18s and any junior parents who wish to attend what is the premier night of the Newlyn Football Netball Club A huge thanks must also go to Richard & Sally Bell for their support over many years their hospitality at the cafe will be sadly missed.
